Seems simple enough for bar owners and managers. Don’t hire any minors, pay your taxes, and make sure your staff is healthy. If you don’t comply, the National Bureau of Investigations (NBI) will close your bar down.
Recently the bars Icarus, Valhalla, Club 68, and Edelweiss were raided because of reports of bar girls working without their proper license.

The Municipal Government, through its Task Force Angel, has warned owners of night clubs here to comply with the provisions of local ordinances on child labor and business taxes.
The task force, which was created by the local government to regulate bars here, conducted its second round of inspection last Saturday night to check which of the night clubs are employing minors and not securing business permits.
Task Force Angel, under the chairmanship of Councilor Oscar Aurelio, discovered that several karaoke bars here are operating without necessary documents like sanitary permits, fire clearance, mayor’s permit, business clearance, among others.
Dr. Maria Clara Aquino, co-chairperson of Task Force Angel, said the bars found to have failed to secure business permits were given 10 days to comply with local laws.
Aquino said the task force has so far found no minors employed in night clubs here. She also said that the rural health centers here are properly monitoring the health of women employed in the night clubs.
Majority of the bars, she said, are complying with the local ordinances but some bar girls still have no health cards.
Policeman Francisco Ronquillo, a member of the task force, said the group is doubling its effort to regulate bars here following reports about the influx in the town of bargirls with sexually transmitted diseases.
