- The Definitive Guide to Angeles City

Your Emails:

  1. Visiting Angeles from India

Hello out there,

I am planning to make a trip to Angeles City for the first time, in a few weeks. Really excited about it. I've been to Pattaya / Bangkok about 30 times in the past decade and have a lot of fun, but somehow I had never heard of AC!

I am worried about one thing though: I read on your site and some others that entry to some bars or complexes is to foreigners only. I am from India, though I work all over the world (USA, Europe, Japan etc.). Are Indians as welcome in bars ang go-gos like Americans and other foreigners?

Hello Runa.

Don’t worry about it.  They don’t usually let the locals in but you won’t have any problem.

You will certainly like the change of pace and girl friend experience that Angeles City offers.

Have fun!

  1. Young guy looking for fun in Manila

Hey Dude,

First of all i wanna thank you for being honest and humble in your articles with none of the bs show off attitude.  Any way to make a long story short i read your advice for Manila and sounds like good info.  I am 29 as well fairly good looking but work like a dog every day until 8 pm.  Any thoughts on where to meet regular good looking local girls and how clean do u think the girls are in havana and la cafe?  Girls in burgos were shit quality looks wise never mind the money.  As for incall massage tried it once, girl was sweet cute face but didn’t shave her legs well!... it just killed it for me for days and days..sorry for the details:)  Any way any advice is highly appreciated

How's it going Flavio.

The fact that you are young in age gives you a big advantage with the younger Filipina.  You should definitely check out the local scene and night clubs.  There are so many night clubs all over Metro Manila.  Where ever you go whether its a restaurant or the mall, if you bump into a younger employee just ask them for their opinion on what is good to do and which clubs to check out.  I know of a few but it is only a drop in the pond.  Heres a little list to check out:

1. Club Encore - Fort Bonafacio, Global City

2. Club LAX - Behind Mall of Asia fronting Manila Bay.

3. Fiamma - its a lounge/bar in Makati on Jupiter St. near EDSA.

4. Tabu - another lounge/bar in Legazpi Village, Makati

5. Nirvana - Along Taft Ave in Malate.  Better to bring a lady friend with you though.  Sorta hard to hook up here.

Like i said thats just a few but there are so many in Manila.

Going on to the P4P scene.  I love a quick and easy lay.  Cafe Havana is a freelancer scene sorta like LA Cafe.  Less women but more sophisticated women and higher prices.  Please keep in mind not all women here are hookers.  Just walk up to them and ask them if you could join them for a drink and take it from there.  I do not know the going prices here.  I did hook up with a girl here but she liked me for more than a "customer" and didn't ask for any money although i slipped her some money in her back pocket just to help her out.

LA Cafe could be a hit or a miss.  Theres a lot of uglies here but if you stop by during the peak hours of 10pm - 2am you will certainly find several cuties within the bunch.  You need a little patience though.  Just have fun and flirt with the other girls while keeping your eyes out.

I have found some crazy hot girls in Flamingo on Burgos.  Just like any other bar, every night will be different.  Sometimes they're working sometimes they're not.  And girls come and go as the days pass.

And i’m sure you have check out EDSA International Entertainment Complex (EDSA Complex).  If not, its something you must experience.  Its near Mall of Asia and Heritage Hotel along EDSA.

  1. One night in Manila

Hey there,

I just want to get this straight about EDSA. You go into the bar and see a girl u like and try to get mamasan to have her sit with you. If you like the girl, u then ask mamasan how much it is to barfine her. Is it ok to ask the girl right then and there how much is her tip and what will i get from the tip? Or am i setting myself up for getting arrested for solicitation. Sorry if this sounds stupid but it is my first time and i dont want to get "locked up abroad". If you could give me details, step by step it would be greatly appreciated. I know u mentioned the other place...Burgo St. or something, but it seems you get a room there with the girl and i was looking for somethiing to take back to my room. I get into Manila in the early evening so my time is short as i leave the next morning. Thanks for the info and hope u can help me with more personal account. Thanks again.

Candy Man

Hello Candy Man,

EDSA IEC is a small building with 8 or 9 different go-go bars.  There is a barfine or EWR to take a girl out of the bar. And only foreigners are allowed in the complex.

The girls at EDSA will be somewhat straight forward at negotiating tip amount which may start very high depending on the girl and what she thinks she may command.

Choosing a girl at EDSA is exactly as you described.  Find a girl who catches your eye, invite her down for a chat, maybe buy her a drink, ask her if she would like to leave the bar with you, then discuss tip amount.  Barfine in EDSA is around 1200 peso.

Since you mention P Burgos St, business here is also similar to Angeles City and EDSA IEC.  You take the girl back to your room.

To make the most of your short stay in Manila consider going to a Massage Parlor also.  Flight 168 is located in the Air Force One KTV very near the airport and very beautiful women can be found here.

  1. Thailand traveler new to Philippines

Hello FieldsAvenue...

I will not consider myself an completely experienced traveler but I have traveled to Thailand a few times. My question is a simple one; I have planned my first trip to Angeles City in March 2010.  I have booked my accommodations at ABC Hotel, airline ticket already reserved.

I am not the overly adventurous type that needs a different body several times a day or nightly.  In Thailand I am usually able to find one woman from the bar scene to spend my entire vacation with (normally 2 -3 weeks).  No, am not looking to get married but don't like the hassle of different rates by this one or that one also it allows me to control whom I let enter my room (scams, etc)... From my past experiences in Thailand I have found it easier and better with just being generous, but not foolish, with one.  We sight-see, go partying, etc...but I have a truly relaxing and enjoyable vacation (if u know what I mean).

After reading your website are the bar girls in Angeles open to this type of arrangement with a Westerner tourist or am I stuck with just finding a different woman every day or night?

Thanks, by the way your website has been completely informative....

Hello BDB,

Thank you very much for viewing the site!

If there is one thing i can think of that the Philippines is better at compared to Thailand, it is the Girlfriend Experience.  You will not have any problem with finding a cute Filipina who will want to spend a long period of time with you.  I would suggest you secure all your expensive items in the room.  Watch, wallet, passport in hotel safe.  Laptop locked using a laptop lock to the desk.  Etc. in the unlikely case she turns out to be a thief.

You will certainly enjoy your upcoming trip.

  1. Hello from Malaysia

Hi I’m Kenny,

Nice website info on Fields Avenue. I’m planning a trip to Angeles end of October is it peak season over there? This is the first time I’m traveling to the Philippines alone. I’m from Malaysia an Asian country as well. Is it dangerous out there at night? And I’m planning to stay in Le Mirage, is it safe? I've been to Bangkok, Pattaya, Beijing, Taiwan, Bali before is it almost the same as in fields avenue?

Hello Kenny,

Thank you very much for viewing the website.

Traveling to the Philippines alone really isn't so bad.  Especially since everything is written in English and a lot of people here speak English.  Communication really shouldn't be too much of a problem.

The main bar area of Balibago where Fields Ave is located and is very safe even at the very early morning hours.  Just make sure you do not venture too far off the beaten path on the side streets.  When you are there, it is very easy to distinguish the bar areas and the areas where not to walk.

Balibago, Angeles City, the main bar area is much smaller than Pattaya but it is similar in a way everything is very near.  And the girls here have their own special charm.

The Le Mirage hotel is above the Carousel bar which is right in the center of the bar district.  Extremely convenient but it might get a little loud because of the loud music from downstairs.

  1. Lollipop Kings

Me and my fellow Monger just got back from a seven day trip from Angeles. We blew into town strong running up a 26,000 peso party at the Crystal Palace getting all the girls loose and drunk and building up our popularity for the rest of the week. After the first night, every time we would walk past the Palace, All the girls knew us, and holler at us. Of course we had to tone it down a bit after that or we would have been broke in 2 days. Well, about 500 pics and 20 videos later, we learned something this trip that we never thought of before, "lollipops" !!!    We were growing very tired of the children beggars mauling us after we would exit a club onto the street, and we're experienced enough to know not to give them money, so we dashed into the local seven eleven on fields ave. and grabbed a handful of lollipops, put them in our pockets and hit the street. We started out walking and soon were approached by a few little beggars and "Voila"!! It worked like a charm, the kids smiled, accepted the lollipop and even said thank you and they were on their way. If we had only known it was that easy!! They were happy to just get something from us, it didn’t need to be money. Also it makes you feel better inside and if your with a girl you picked up at a local club it makes them smile too !!  So my fellow mongers, save yourself some trouble and stop off at a local store and get you some 10 cent lolipops !!

Hello David,

Glad you have a great time.  And what a way to satisfy the beggars.

  1. An experienced Asia traveler

Thank you very much for all the excellent information on your web site.

I am planning my first trip to Angeles City, Philippines.  I am experienced Asia traveler having spent a lot of time in Thailand, Singapore, China, Korea, India, etc. However this is my first trip to the Philippines. I am interested in a high end hotel within walking distance of the Angeles City entertainment area. I’m considering the Angeles Beach Club Hotel. I especially like the roof top bar that they discuss on their web site. What is your opinion of this hotel? What other high end hotels are located within walking distance of the entertainment area?

What clubs do you think are the best for the quality of the ladies, friendly staff, a reasonable volume of music (not so loud that you cannot carry on a conversation), integrity, and just having a good time?

I am more interested in quality and a great experience than cost. I am very willing to spend a little more to have a great time and be comfortable.

Thank you for your help.

Best Regards,

Thank you for viewing the site!

Although the Philippines in general may not be as beautiful and culturally rich as some of the other countries you have been to, Angeles City easily makes up for it with beautiful Filipina's and their great attitudes.  Another big plus is that it is common for most Filipina's to speak conversational English.

High end hotels?  Angeles Beach Club Hotel is definitely one of them.  It is what many consider as one of the top three hotels in Angeles City, if not the top.  It is a bit far from the center of the Fields Ave bar district though, approx 10 minute walk by foot and probably the farthest hotel I would suggest if you are planning to walk at night.  But also keep in mind most major hotels do offer a drop-off and pick-up service.

Theres also a couple other high end hotels you may want to check out such as the Lewis Grand Hotel and Wild Orchid Resort.  The Lewis Grand is a bit father than Angeles Beach Club but i would not suggest walking the distance at night.  Wild Orchid is almost in the center of the action.

There are so many bars in Angeles City and every bar has its own flavor.  You just need to check them out to see which one you like the best.  A few favorites as follows.

La Bamba Cantina which opens early at 2pm.  A great place to stop by to take a break from the scorching South East Asia heat.  Its a small bar but there’s lots of girls and they have great attitudes.

An even smaller bar i would suggest would be Matrix Brawn which is down Perimeter Road.  Its a silly name for an Angeles City bar but you gotta check it out.  Make sure you find a cutie and ask about the back room special.

Then there would be Club Atlantis.  Its the biggest bar in Angeles City with the most beautiful Filipina showgirls.

  1. Language Barrier? Safety?

I maybe traveling to AC in about 2 weeks. Since I will be traveling alone, don't speak the language and never been there how safe is it?

Would it be best to go with say maybe a tour group? Does anyone offer any tour services and what to expect.

Also I don't drink alcohol.

How’s it going CB,

Don't worry too much, You'll have a lot of fun.

The great thing about the Philippines is most people of the country can speak at least conversational English. The more educated ones are fluent and know how to read and write English also.

When you're there follow the same safety precautions you follow back home. Don't walk through dark alley ways at night. Try to stay within the Fields Avenue entertainment district at night which is lit with lots of foot traffic. Do NOT dress exuberantly, dress down with shorts/pants and a shirt. Limit your interaction with beggars and street vendors. And do NOT pick up any freelancers or underage girls. The place is not particularly dangerous but foreigners are usually overwhelmed by the beggars and the popular scams of the area.

Non-alcoholic drinks are not a problem. Bars serve juice and water for the same price as the beer which is still relatively cheap.

I don't know of any tour groups of the Fields Avenue entertainment district but dont bother.  Just check out all the bars and find the ones to your liking.  And check out some of the articles of the website to familiarize yourself with the place.

Have fun!

  1. Threesomes?

I love your website!

I am taking a trip to clark in may and i was wondering, are the girls there open to threesomes? what about hotel staff, I saw that the hotel I am staying at offers massages. I just dont want to go around asking every chick there if she wants to hook up and offend someone! thanks!

Hello Tyler,

First of all thanks for viewing the site.

And absolutely, you should be able to find a girl interested in threesomes.  Most girls however will just call you "bastos" or "malibog" meaning rude and horny so dont ask any and every girl you meet.  But dont let this deter you.  Just as with any other girl you need to feel her out.

What about hotel staff?  You mean hooking up?  Im sure you can hook up with a girl from the hotel staff but you need to remember, they know the game just as well as us.  They see guys going in and out of the hotel with new girls every night.  And im assuming most girls would be more interested in the relationship rather than just the sex.  I was also interested in hooking up with a particular hotel girl, but the potential repercussions is what convinced me not to pursue her.  Think jealousy and missing items from your room or possibly even a scam set up by her.  Not trying to be pessimistic, i just want to make sure you are not put in a situation you did not want to be in.

Hotel massages are usually set up by a third party vendor.  I know Ella Massage on Fields Avenue (near Sub Delicious) has an account at the Lewis Grand hotel.

Im sure you will enjoy your trip.

  1. Greetings from the North Pole

Hey Fields Avenue,

Greetings from the North Pole – er, uh…  Chicago!

It looks like my travel dates for Angeles City have me arriving Feb 27 and departing Mar 11.  Below are a couple of questions for your expertise!

1. I have a blackberry 8830 with international calling capabilities.  Do you advise that I “turn on” verizon’s international plan for calls back to the USA?

2. In terms of communicating easily with locals, do you advise that I purchase or rent a cell phone that is Angeles City based and use it for local communications?  Your thoughts?

3. My flight arrives at 10:15pm in Manila on Feb 27.  Do you think I should monger in Manila for a day or 2 prior to arriving in Angeles City?

4. While in Angeles City, do recommend any side trip excursions?   Your advice?

Thanks so much!

Hello KK,

You will definitely thaw out in the Philippines!

1 and 2. Most people purchase a SIM card for use in their "unlocked" phones in the Philippines however Verizon uses the CDMA network which is not compatible with SIM cards as used with the three major cell phone carriers in the Philippines; Smart, Globe, and Sun.  Though you can most likely use your existing cellular phone and Verizon plan but you will probably be charged OUTRAGEOUS fees.  I suggest buying a cheap and used cell phone in when in the Philippines for maybe 1500-2000 pesos for local phone calls and texts.  Keep the nice cell phone in the hotel safe.  Read: pick-pockets.  While on that topic keep your cell phone and wallet in FRONT pockets, and never in the back.

You can purchase a PLDT pre-paid US calling card at the SM Mall to make phone calls back to the US.  The pre-paid cards i have experience with can only be used from a land-line.  However if i am not mistaken they have one that can be used with a cellular phone also.  This is the extent of my experience calling back to the US.

If you have a company paid cellular phone and dont worry about charges, just go with the Verizon phone all the way.

3. On my very first trip, two groups of my friends went to the Philippines at the same time.  One group stayed in Manila, and the group that i was with stayed in Angeles City.  We had a blast in Angeles City, my other group of friends regretted the trip.  Manila is good for mongering, but you will not get the total experience as you will get in Angeles City.  The other thing about Manila is it is more "hardened" and may be intimidating to the unexperienced Philippines mongerer.  As opposed to Angeles City which welcomes you with open arms.  Only my opinion though.

If you do decide to stay in Manila for the first couple days i would suggest you book a hotel with Executive Plaza through  Prices are approx 30-50% less expensive if booked through them.  I have also stayed at the Great Eastern Hotel in Makati and they are excellent too.  The main places for a tourist to monger would be in Pasay at the EDSA International Entertainment Complex, Ermita at L.A. Cafe, and Makati on Burgos St.  Once place i have been meaning to try is Air Force One/Flight 168 in Paranaque, supposedly they have the most beautiful women there.

4. Side excursions from Angeles City?  Subic Bay and Baguio.  Subic is the closest beach to Angeles City.  Theres a pretty healthy mongering scene there too.  Baguio is a nice place to get away from it all.  No mongering there though so you might want to bring your favorite girl with you.  Subic is 1 hour away and Baguio is 4 hours away, by bus.

  1. Cheap Hotels

Thank you for your VERY informative site, great work!!!

I will be making my first trip to Angeles City in May, 2009. Although this will not be peak season, I'm sure there will be plenty of fun to be had.

My question is, are hotels cheaper after peak season? Can you please recommend a few good hotels (safe, clean, and close to the fun zone) for around $25 per night? Do some hotels have weekly rates where the price is cheaper if you stay for a week or more? Thank you for your time, and I promise to send a report of my trip for your site.

Hello BlackCat,

Thank you very much for viewing the site!

May isnt Peak season but it should be a good time to go.  I assume it wont be so hot like the peak summer months in the Philippines.  Just be prepared with some light clothing and lots of clothes to switch into.  I usually took 3 showers a day cause it was so humid and hot.

Some hotels are cheaper during off-peak season some are not.  Two less expensive hotels i would suggest would be Swiss Chalet and Central Park hotels.  Swiss Chalet offers discount for extended stays, Central Park does not.  But it never hurts to ask with any hotel you contact.

They are a little more than $25 but the little extra is well worth it.  Im not too familiar with the lower priced hotels.  My suggestion is pay just a little more for the hotels i suggested and save money (and time and convenience) on trike rides.  And since its closer to Fields Avenue, it might be a little safer too.

Im sure you will have a great time in Angeles City.
